Covenant House Vancouver

Did you know that Covenant House Vancouver has Endowment Funds? Our permanent funds are held at the Vancouver Foundation. They were established in 2002 and they give donors an opportunity to provide support in perpetuity to youth who need a second chance. An endowment is an investment fund set aside for the long-term support of Covenant House Vancouver. Only the income or a portion of the income is expended. The principal is preserved intact. These funds provide stability, and make long range planning possible thanks to a predictable stream of income. They can also protect the organization in years when other revenue is reduced.

Our funds are named after our five principles:

• The Immediacy Fund: to ensure that we can always respond to our youth when they need help – immediately.
• The Sanctuary Fund: to ensure that when a youth first walks up to our front door, scared, alone, hungry and homeless, there will always be a friendly, caring and skilled person ready to help and guide them.
• The Structure Fund: to ensure that our youth always have a house, and it will always feel like home.
• The Choice Fund: to ensure that youth leaving our care have the best chance of a successful, independent future.
• The Value Communication Fund: to ensure that our youth will be exposed to experiences that teach honesty, integrity, self-reliance, self-confidence and caring, as well as skills and resources that will serve them life-long.

Any gift, at any time, of any amount can be contributed to the funds. As well, we also offer the opportunity to create a named fund through a minimum donation of $25,000 or a named designated fund through a minimum donation of $250,000. Bequests can also be designated to the funds.
