BIG Smile

I just wanted to tell you about a cute little story from one of our youth, who is getting some work done from Dr. Wong and his staff at the Dental Clinic on Robson. I came out of my office and couldn’t help but notice a BIG smile from across the room. I went up to her to see how she was and I knew by the way she was smiling it was about her recent trip to the dentist and she happily told me all about it. With the same big smile she showed me her two temporary front teeth, and the shiny cleaning she had just received. It really stood out to me how a seemingly small thing (on the dentist’s part) can make a really BIG difference in someone’s life!

Many thanks for this posting.  It is believed that a smile is a universal expression of happiness recognized by all cultures.  We have found, that if one is reluctant to smile for fear of showing one's teeth, this impacts on one's self-esteem.  Our wish is to give back that self-esteem to youth that need it to allow them to smile proudly, and broadly,  and move ahead with self-esteem and confidence into their adult lives.  If one is smiling, then we are all smiling too.  :)
