The Crofton Manor Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair is Crofton Manor Assisted Living's most popular annual event, attended by friends, family, and neighbours. Residents participate throughout the autumn months to create, bake, and prepare a variety of craft items to be sold at the Christmas Fair. They work diligently to prepare gift boxes, candles, ornaments, salsa, cookies, rum balls, and much more to the immense delight of family, friends, and community visitors!
The proceeds from the Fair are donated to a charity selected by the residents themselves at the monthly Resident Council meetings. Last Christmas, the Crofton Manor Christmas Fair raised $2,600 to support the youth of Covenant House Vancouver, enabling us to provide food, shelter, clothing, counseling, and life skills training to one youth for an entire 8 months! Betty Duthie, Chair of the Crofton Manor Assisted Living Resident Council, explained the decision to donate the proceeds to Covenant House. "We know you people are doing good work. You are working hard to help those children."
The entire Covenant House family thanks everyone at Crofton Manor Assisted Living for their tremendous generosity and inspiring efforts! Thank you all for celebrating the spirit of Christmas with our young people. We will always be grateful for your kindness.
