Program Expectations
Developing life skills for independent living is an important part of the ROP Program. There are five steps in the ROP program that a young person is expected to move through. Below is a description of Step One to give you an idea of what to expect at ROP.

Step One:
Young people are required to:
Pay program fee of 60% of net earnings to a max of $300 on first of each month. A prorated amount is due by the day you move in, unless other arrangements have been made
Make contact with staff at least twice each day - once before 2 p.m. and once between 3 and 11 p.m.
Attend a 1-hour weekly case planning meeting
Adhere to your case management plan, including your plan for school or work
Take medications as prescribed
Sign in and out every time you enter or leave the building
Meet daily curfew requirements (10:00 p.m. on work or school days / 12:00 a.m. on 2 days off per week)
No overnights or extended curfews
Sign up and attend Life Skills sessions (Sundays or as arranged with Life Skills Worker)
Keep apartment clean, clean up after yourself in the common area, and complete common area chores daily
Attend Community Dinners each Thursday and House Meeting following Community dinner every second Thursday
Adhere to behavioural guidelines
Staff will:
Wake you up and remind you to take meds as needed
Help you to make appointments and remind you of them
Keep your savings for you if you so choose
Do chores and room cleaning with you as needed, and make sure you know what's expected and how to do it. (To pass this step, you must demonstrate that you know how to do all the basic household tasks, such as loading a dishwasher and cleaning your bathroom, so please ask for help if you need it.)
Step One is a minimum of 4 weeks. Once you have four successful weeks (meeting all of the requirements), you will move on to Step 2.
