Hike for Homelessness

Have you ever wanted to do something incredible for all the right reasons? Have you ever seen a problem in the place that you live and wondered how you could help? Have you ever wanted to put your fitness to the test and stare down at mother earth from the 4000 meter peak you just hiked?

Friends, philanthropists, and fitness fanatics:

We welcome you to the first but hopefully not the last Hike for the Homeless. We are looking to embark on a 10 day expedition through the Torres Del Paine National Park in Southern Chile.  The hike will pass through beautiful alpine meadows, crystal clear glacial lakes, and up stunning peaks. Now we are looking to build a “dream team” of adventurous folks who are passionate about traveling, fundraising, and community involvement.

Over the next year we will be engaging in as much fundraising as possible for two of the most influential charities tackling homelessness in the downtown eastside. Pivot legal society is a non-profit organization that works for social change and acts as the legal voice for the city’s most impoverished.  Covenant House provides shelter and support for children and youth who seek help from abuse, mental health issues, and addiction.  We hope to raise money and awareness for these great organizations that are making a huge difference in our community.

Come join us for a team expedition briefing on Sunday February the 13th at 3:30 at the Kitsilano Community Centre. We will be serving tea, coffee, and delicious treats.
