Change for Change 2011 Fundraiser a Huge Success

This year marked the second Change for Change event spearheaded by a talented group of Vancouverites working in the restaurant industry.  This year they asked local rock band Marianas Trench to lend a helping hand by participating in a fundraising contest benefitting Covenant House.  The band promoted the contest on their website offering prizes, tickets to one of their concerts and a chance to meet the band members.

The response was overwhelming; what started as local fundraiser gathering spare change at Vancouver restaurants became a North America-wide phenomenon!  Marianas Trench fans held local fundraisers across Canada and the U.S.; the end result was a “photo finish” with a mere $20 separating first, second and third place winners!

The grand total was a whopping $21,226.42!

Thanks to the organizing committee and Marianas Trench for taking the Change for Change fundraiser to an international audience.  Thank you to everyone who entered the contest and worked so hard to fundraise on behalf of Covenant House.
