It’s Amazing What You Can Hear…

Yesterday I went down to our front reception area to pick up a couple of donations from the long weekend. When I got there, a young lady was talking to our front desk staff and as I was waiting my turn I overheard a wonderful conversation.

The youth was thanking our front desk staff for a happy birthday note she had left for her. The girl went on to say how she felt so loved and cared about. She also talked about how the staff had given her a little present and how she was so happy to have received it. She said she has never felt as loved as she has here and is so happy to be at CHV.

It was an incredible sweet and touching moment hearing that youth speaking so openly about feeling cared about and loved. After the girl had left to go to an appointment I said to our front desk staff that she seemed like such a sweet girl. The staff member told me that she is an incredibly sweet girl who has gone through some very tough times lately and has been very strong and graceful through it.

I am so grateful that I got to overhear that conversation. It completely changed my day around and reminded me yet again of why I work at CHV. My thanks as well to our amazing front line staff that go above and beyond to make sure our youth feel cherished and loved.

Make sure to tell someone you love and appreciate them today – hearing those words can change both your days around!
