A Lasting Impression

It was with feelings of both sadness and excitement when Elaine Henderson came to visit in January. Elaine’s dear friend Phyllis Lowdell had passed away and had left a gift to Covenant House in her will. Elaine wanted to make sure she delivered the cheque personally and we understood why: it turned out to be the largest legacy gift received by Covenant House to date!

Elaine had only known Phyllis for seven years but felt like she had been in her life forever. “She became part of my family and we enjoyed her company for all family celebrations” said Elaine.

We would have loved to have known Phyllis during her life and thank her personally for her legacy gift which will have a tremendous impact on Covenant House and the young people who turn to us for help. If you have, or are considering making a bequest to Covenant House, please contact Michelle Bernard at 604-639-8915. To learn more about Legacy Giving please click here.
