Into the arms and hearts of the youth

One Friday evening, when I came in for my shift I noticed a large pink bear sitting in the staff room.  It was a busy night and there were lots of youth in the house, playing cards and board games, and just hanging out.   Later on during my shift; I saw one of the youth walking around hugging the pink bear.  He had a big smile on his face as he talked about how this bear was his baby and how he was looking after it.

A little while later the bear was sitting on the couch between this youth and another youth who were then watching Star Wars. It was so big that it looked like a big pink fluffy friend beside them.  Then awhile later, the pink bear had somehow made its way to another couch, and one of the female residents was sitting beside it hugging it.  Just before going to bed she came back over to the large pink bear and gave it a hug.  After the youth had gone to bed, I learned from another staff member that yet another one of the female youth; had asked to bring the pink bear into her room that night.  This quiet pink bear seemed to fit right into the shelter and into the arms and hearts of the youth.
