“Welcome to My Class”

Recently The Tyee featured an article written by Anna Chudnovsky titled “Welcome to My Class” and reading it almost brought me to tears at my desk. The article speaks to the challenges teachers have working in inner city schools in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland and it is both heartbreaking and inspiring. When I read the article, I could picture our youth as young children struggling to make it through their classes and I know that having a caring teacher to support them may have been the high point in their day.

I strongly encourage you to read this article and I want to send my support to teachers everywhere working hard to make a difference in children’s lives. Keep up the amazing work!
