Students from around the world support homeless youth in Vancouver

Tryn Rohrer wanted to do something special for her birthday, but instead of gifts for herself, the SFU student decided to do something for the youth at Covenant House.

Tryn asked her friends buy presents for the Christmas Backpack Program in honour of her birthday.  The group of friends, all International students from places like Thailand, China, Pakistan, and Switzerland, came to Covenant House last week to drop off their donations.  We were able to show them some of our spaces and chatted about the resources and supports we provide for homeless and at-risk youth.

When we asked Tryn if we could share her birthday story she said that it was such a pleasure for her and her friends to help Covenant House Vancouver and see the work we do, they would be very happy if their story inspired others to do the same.

Happy Birthday Tryn!  And thank you to you and your friends for supporting our Christmas Backpack Program!
