Rights of Passage receives an incredible gift in memory of Mischa Weisz

The youth in our Rights of Passage program focus on learning the crucial life skills needed for living in their own homes. In this supportive program, they learn how to shop for groceries and cook nutritious meals, clean their homes, find a job, and complete their education. While in our care, these young people live in a semi-independent room with their own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, but still have the support of both our staff and the greater Rights of Passage community. By teaching these skills in a structured environment of love and respect, we ensure that they leave this program ready to successfully navigate independent living.

We were fortunate this year to receive an incredible gift from the Mischa Weisz Foundation to support this critical program. Mischa Weisz established this foundation in 2009, shortly before he sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer. The foundation that he started continues his wish to support disadvantaged children and youth, or those suffering from a debilitating health problem or disease. Thanks to this gift in Mischa’s memory, we will continue to teach our youth the tools that they need to help themselves.

A big thank you to the Mischa Weisz Foundation for helping us to find an answer to homelessness, one young person at a time.
