New boots for a hard worker

A young man in our Rights of Passage program came to me shortly after having received his requested wake up for work.  The young man worked in construction and had to get up quite early to get to work on time. It happened to be a very rainy day and he asked if I could find him some small plastic bags.

He explained that he planned to put the bags over top of his socks, inside his boots, to keep his feet dry as his work boots had holes in them. I was able to find him some bags to meet his immediate need, but I also got his shoe size so that we could ask our donations department if they had some better work boots for him.  Sure enough, we were able to find him some waterproof work boots to replace his old pair.

The young man was very happy and grateful when presented with his new boots later that day!
