A Big Thank You to Hockey Helps the Homeless!

By supporting community organizations and raising awareness, Hockey Helps the Homeless works towards a future where every Canadian has a place to call home.  This year, Hockey Helps the Homeless is helping fund Covenant House’s Outreach Program with an incredible gift of $25,000!

Our Outreach Program acts as the first point of contact that many homeless youth have with Covenant House. Instead of relying on youth to find their way to us, we proactively seek them out, meeting them “where they are at.” By making contact with young people and establishing relationships built on trust and mutual respect, we can let them know that someone cares about them, put them in touch with the resources they need, and encourage them to access Covenant House’s programs, including the Drop-In Centre, Crisis Program, and mental health and addictions counselling. This gift from Hockey Helps the Homeless will help us reach out to 263 homeless youth in Vancouver.

Founded in 1996, Hockey Helps the Homeless has raised over $10 million for homeless support agencies across the country. Net proceeds from the tournament are donated directly to local partner organizations that are dedicated to helping end homelessness in our communities.
