TELUS gives back to Covenant House & our community in a big way

TELUS   and its “Give Where You Live” campaign chose Covenant House Vancouver again this year and we are so grateful they supported us for not one day but two full days. During May and June, Covenant House was grateful to receive the helping hands of TELUS and their employees as well as their friends and families. 15 volunteers from the Lower Mainland donated their time to helping in our Gift-In-Kind department. They were efficient in sorting and organizing items such as clothing and toiletries that are now ready to be given to youth in need.

Also on June 4th we had 17 volunteers helping us with our roof top garden at our Pender location. Their help allowed our youth garden club to be successful in learning how to grow and harvest produce. We also want to say a big thanks to the gardening club at the TELUS Garden building, they have been a great support to our kitchen in providing fresh produce on a weekly basis for our youth meals.

Thank you to the passionate employees, friends and families of TELUS. It is obvious that you truly do care about those in your community and are passionate about supporting at-risk and homeless youth as they improve their lives.

If you or your employees would like to coordinate a time to   volunteer   as a group with our Gift-In-Kind program, please contact Amanda Merler by email: amerler@covenanthousebc.org   or by phone at (604) 639-8920.
