A New Building for Covenant House

We are thrilled to report that today, the British Columbia Government announced its support for Vancouver’s vulnerable homeless youth with a donation of $5 million towards the purchasing and rebuilding of a new building for Covenant House.  This generous contribution coupled with the $10M we have already raised through private donations will allow us to break ground on the new building this fall.

The Honourable Michael de Jong, QC, Minister of Finance who attended the announcement today said  “Our government continues to invest in programs and projects that help prevent at-risk British Columbians from becoming homeless. We’re delighted to have been involved in Covenant House Vancouver’s capital expansion project, which will bring new housing and support for vulnerable homeless youth.

We are so grateful for this clear message of support from the BC government for Covenant House Vancouver and the young people who turn to us for help.  Providing much-needed additional services and space to Vancouver’s homeless youth will enable them to transition on to lives full of health, happiness and independence.

Sincere thanks to the Province of British Columbia for their support of homeless and at-risk youth!
