Covenant House Vancouver is a secular organization that welcomes and serves young people from all backgrounds.
Covenant House Vancouver is a secular organization that welcomes and serves young people from all backgrounds. While the international federation to which we belong was founded in the 1970s by members of the Catholic Church, we are not aligned with any specific faith traditions. Our approach to wellness and care focuses on mind, body and spirit – which means different things for the youth we serve. Similarly, our employees come from every spiritual background and may be religious, agnostic or atheistic – all are welcome, and no point of view is preferred or promoted. Covenant House Vancouver celebrates equality and diversity in the workplace. Our commitment is to ensure equity in employment, and we affirm and welcome applicants from all backgrounds of race, colour, ancestry, place of origin, religion, marital status, family status, physical or mental disability, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation and age, except as prescribed by law. We encourage applicants from qualified aboriginal persons, persons of all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, and others with the skills and knowledge to effectively engage with those from diverse backgrounds.
