Covenant House Vancouver is a secular organization that welcomes and serves young people from all backgrounds. While the international federation to which we belong was founded in the 1970s by members of the Catholic Church, we are not aligned with any specific faith traditions.
Our approach to wellness and care focuses on mind, body and spirit – which means different things for the youth we serve. Similarly, our employees come from every spiritual background and may be religious, agnostic or atheistic – all are welcome, and no point of view is preferred or promoted.
Covenant House Vancouver is committed to upholding diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace. We value the perspectives of a full spectrum of experiences and ideas with the goal of serving all youth with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help youth experiencing homelessness, and to protect and safeguard all youth in need. In pursuit of our values and to best serve the diverse youth who come through our doors, we seek employees who will work respectfully and constructively with differences.
We actively encourage applications from members of groups with historical and/or current barriers to equity, including, but not limited to:
We recognize that many of these identities intersect and that therefore, diversity, equity, and inclusion can be complex. We value the contributions that each person brings and are committed to ensuring full and equal participation for all at Covenant House Vancouver.
