Associate Director, Youth Services

Covenant House Vancouver is the premier provider of residential and support services for our city’s homeless youth, and we are growing! You will be joining a team of dedicated and committed people whose mission is to help at-risk young people move off the streets and on to independence.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Youth Services provides supervision and direction to all day-to-day operations within Program Services. Working closely with the Chief Program Officer, this position ensures that services are delivered in compliance with agency policies and procedures. The Associate Director, Youth Services participates in community initiatives and agency wide projects.  This role assumes shared responsibility of all program areas in the absence of the Chief Program Officer.

Job Description

  • Directly supervise the Program Services managers of Community Support Services, Crisis Program and Rights of Passage
  • Provide staff with direction, coaching and training in supervision related process including formal, informal, developmental, disciplinary and performance appraisals
  • Review responses to critical incidents and emergency procedures
  • Prepare and maintain related budget activity
  • Responsible for monitoring program services in accordance with established outcome measures and key performance indicators
  • Provide input into the development of the program goals, objectives, policies, long range planning, strategies for future development
  • Participates in the identification of service gaps and the development of new initiatives to address service gaps
  • Attend to community relations and partnerships in relation to program services
  • Represents the agency at public functions and activities


  • Masters level in related Social Service/Program or combination of education and related experience
  • Minimum 3 years direct experience in a supervisory/managerial role
