About Covenant House Vancouver

Since 1997, Covenant House Vancouver has provided relentless support for youth experiencing, or at-risk of experiencing, homelessness. We provide support to young people age 16 to 24 who have experienced a wide range of early life and ongoing, complex trauma; including physical, sexual and emotional abuse and neglect. Our purpose is to serve all youth, with absolute respect and unconditional love, to help youth experiencing homelessness, and provide a safe and supportive environment for all youth in need.


The Data Assistant, will work under the Manager, Research, Evaluation & Learning. Responsible for the location, handling and discarding of confidential documents. The Data Assistant will contribute to the overall running of the Program Services department, allowing operations to run smoothly and efficiently. This is a 6 month contract with possibility of extension.


Job Description

  • Assess files for scanning; identify additional items for culling, resolve mismatches and create accounts in ETO where they don’t yet exist
  • Liaise with Youth Workers for questions about mismatched documents/files
  • Complete assignments as assigned by manager
  • Provide responsive and timely administrative support for the Program Services team
  • Scan confidential documents in a timely manner
  • Upload documents to a database carefully with detail
  • Shred documents ensuring confidentiality is maintained
  • File and organise documents
  • Assist staff in locating correct documents
  • Ensure communications are forwarded on to the correct parties
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as directed



  • High School Diploma
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience with administrative duties is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
