As part of our Development and Communications team, this position is responsible for ensuring exemplary donations administration and customer service to Covenant House Vancouver’s donors. Inherent to this position is a need for both speed and accuracy to ensure that targets are met throughout the year. This position reports to and provides direct support to the Supervisor of Donations Processing.

This position will have a focus on the stewardship and database maintenance of our monthly Good Samaritan Donors. Through effective and efficient donation administration and relationship management, the Development Associate contributes to the team’s fundraising efforts and focuses on both building and maintaining relationships with our donors.

Job Description

  • Acts as a front-line contact for our donor base, responding to donor inquiries and requests (phone, e-mail) in a professional and timely manner
  • Manages incoming mail and donations, ensuring accuracy and task completion in a timely manner and achieving daily weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Ensures all data and donor information is properly captured in Raiser’s Edge
  • Comfortable with repetition
  • Provide administrative support to the Development & Communications Team
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Raiser’s Edge or another fundraising/database software required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and courteous phone manner
  • Detail focused, superior organizational and time-management skills; ability to multi-task
  • Able to adapt to a variable workflow with multiple priorities and achieve deadlines
  • Data base management and asset
  • Gift Processing an asset
  • Luminate and Team Raiser experience an asset
  • High School and a provincial or other vocational or professional certificate/degree is preferred
  • One year of related past experience an asset
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • The candidate must successfully complete a criminal records and education verification check prior to commencing employment
