IT and Systems Coordinator

Covenant House Vancouver is the premier provider of residential and support services for our city’s homeless youth, and we are growing! You will be joining a team of dedicated and committed  individuals whose mission is to help at-risk young people move off the streets and on to independence.

Job Overview

The IT & Systems Coordinator will be responsible for working with various departments to maintain and/or implement new technologies to better serve our staff and youth. Reporting to the Manager, Technology & Innovation, the role ensures that systems hardware and software and related procedures are stable, current, and support organizational growth. Additionally, the IT & Systems Coordinator will stay informed of emerging technologies to be able to properly maintain appropriate technological environments to meet Covenant House’s future needs.

This role will also include managing inventory, working with our third party IT company to implement projects, and plan system upgrades, while also assisting staff with onsite issues.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Implement innovative solutions or upgrade current systems to increase efficiency for all Covenant House departments.
  • Develop and implement training material and programs to increase technical knowledge of staff
  • Managing hardware inventory and handling deployment of new hardware
  • Finding ways for Covenant House to advance its technology
  • Working with our 3rd party IT company to launch projects and onsite upgrades
  • Overseeing IT tickets in portal managed by third-party company and intervene when necessary
  • Provide support for basic onsite issues


  • Diploma, Degree or professionally recognized certification in IT or related field
  • 3 years of experience in IT support, systems integration and/or technical project management
  • Loves to learn new things and thinks outside the box to problem solve
  • Positive, friendly attitude to be able to work with several people across all departments
  • Organized with great attention to detail
  • Self starter, independent and able to manage own time well
  • Highly reliable and trustworthy
  • Ability to troubleshoot and assist employees with technology questions
  • Confident and succinct communicator, able to synthesize information, provide opinions and recommend solutions
