We are seeking a Team Leader who is responsible for the operation of our Crisis Program and Youth Workers on Shift and for direct implementation of Covenant House philosophy and policies as they pertain to residential care


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct implementation of Covenant House philosophy and policies as they pertain to residential care
  • Assign shift responsibilities and duties
  • Coordinate intakes, assessments, discharges
  • Ensure structure and adherence to daily routines
  • Ensure quality control in case management
  • Manage crisis intervention including briefing, debriefing
  • Facilitate team meetings including shift change
  • Supervise youth workers on shift
  • Co-ordinate youth workers on shift
  • Oversee therapeutic milieu
  • Ensure adherence to and role model Covenant House principles and core values
  • Ensure safety and security of clients, staff, and property
  • Regular security checks of interior and exterior of building
  • Other duties as required


  • Minimum 2 year diploma or degree in related social service practice or social science including but not limited to Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Criminology or Criminal Justice
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience in residential care settings
  • Training in crisis intervention
  • Familiarity with runaway / street-involved youth issues
  • Leadership and team building skills
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Schedule: Weekend Overnights (Sat, Sun, Mon, every other Tues)
