Covenant House Vancouver is almost entirely privately funded (95%). It takes a great team of volunteers and staff to raise the funds and resources we need to keep the doors open. We are, therefore, so grateful to our donors who enable us to provide food, shelter, clothing and counselling to the young people who turn to us for help.

Like many charities, Covenant House sends out mail to attract new donors.

We get potential donor names from other charities or we purchase them from rental lists (like magazine subscriptions). Often these mailings include gifts such as cards or labels. These type of mailings are very effective in helping us raise much needed funds for our young people. They also help us acquire new donors.

We take special care to ensure we source the “gifts” at the lowest cost to us. Your name will not go into our database unless you donate to Covenant House, as these are one-time only mailings. If you do not wish to receive these type of mailings from charities, please contact the Canadian Marketing Association and ask to be put on their “do not contact list”. It may not stop all unsolicited mail, but it should help.

We also mail to our regular donors at various levels of frequency. If you would like to change the frequency with which you receive mail, please call 604-638-4438.
