Practicum Students

At Covenant House Vancouver (CHV), we are proud to provide a welcoming and supportive learning environment where students can gain hands-on experience, receive mentorship, and deepen their understanding of trauma-informed and youth-centered care.

Covenant House Vancouver’s Complex Care (Foundations Program, Sanctuary Program, and Community Support Services) and Supportive Housings (Crisis Program and Rights of Passage Program) accepts practicum student placements, from the following approved schools and programs:

Douglas College – Child and Youth Care (CYC)
Langara College – Social Service Worker Certificate Program

The Case Management Team at CHV accepts a limited number of BSW students from NVIT, UVIC, & UBC. Similarly, we accept a limited number of RCC students from Adler University & Kutenai Art Therapy Institute.

Due to the high volume of applications, we will not be able to respond to student inquiries. If you are interested in pursuing a practicum placement with us, please speak directly to your Field Liaison or Practicum Advisor.

If you are a practicum coordinator or student, from a school not listed above, please check our website in Spring 2027 to see if we have been able to expand our practicum services.
