We’ve mentioned in a previous blog post about how, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had to adapt how we do a variety of our services for homeless and at-risk youth. One of these, was our art therapy program. The program switched to a virtual model in order to promote social distancing. This allowed youth to participate from the comfort and safety of their own room or from the open-air of our rooftop patio.
One of the challenges of this switch was being able to supply youth with their own “art therapy kits”. In the past we could easily stock the art therapy program with a variety of art supplies for youth to share from session to session. Now, however, we had to provide individual kits so that youth could participate even when they were on their own.
So, we want to take this time to say “thank you” to the Skills for Hope Foundation, who generously donated art supplies in support of our Art Therapy program. The youth in the program absolutely loved seeing the new supplies. The gift was a great help in allowing us to continue with this important program.
Thank you to the Skills for Hope Foundation!
