Food costs are rising – a very special family foundation is matching donations to help!

Food and nutrition are vital to our young people, as many of them have struggled with food insecurity and often come to us malnourished.

A very special family foundation knows how important food and nutrition are for youth – which is why they have offered to match any donations made before April 30th up to $30,000!

But food costs are rising. And not just a little. It is impacting our budgets and costs weekly.

Mirabel is the Manager of Food Services at Covenant House Vancouver, and she shared some concerning costs her team is facing:

• Chicken costs have risen by 38%

• Deli meat such as roast beef for sandwiches has increased per case from $59.00 to $73.00

• Produce costs have increased as well as the cost of dairy products

• Our weekly grocery supply costs have risen from $3,200 to $4,700 on average

We recently shared about Covey’s Cupboard and how the demand quickly became greater than the supply. Together, we can work to ensure no young person is hungry.

Donate today and your gift will be matched to help with rising food costs and provide essential support to vulnerable youth.
