Exciting News: New CEO for Covenant House Vancouver!

As you may know after a great deal of thought, Krista Thompson is stepping down from her role as CEO of Covenant House Vancouver effective July 1, 2022.

This is the right time for change and this transition. Covenant House Vancouver is ready. We have the right people in place, and we have strong support from our community. It is also the right time for Krista in her personal life as she is excited to spend more time with family — including her four grandkids.

A special committee of the Board of Directors undertook a formal search both internally and externally. We are excited to announce that Herb Eibensteiner is our new Chief Executive Officer.

On July 1, Herb will step into his new role as CEO bringing with him over eight years of experience as a leader and Chief Operating Officer with CHV. He also brings many years of progressive experience in finance, operations, strategic planning, and transformative change.

Herb cares deeply about the young people we serve and has the heart and leadership that Covenant House Vancouver needs for this next important stage of our growth.

We would like to thank Krista Thompson for her sixteen years of incredible leadership and service. She has been a champion for the young people, staff, and our volunteers, and now it is time for a much-deserved break. Thank you, Krista.

Please join CHV and our Board of Directors in congratulating Herb on this new role!

Krista and Herb share a hug after Herb is named the new CEO at our 1280 Building Opening.
