Outreach

Outreach

A team that travels on foot, offering food, support, supplies, and minor medical attention to young people, age 16 to 24, who are living, or at risk of living, on Vancouver’s streets; or who are precariously housed.

Street life is very dangerous for vulnerable youth. The Outreach team makes sure that young people know that they aren’t alone and that there are trustworthy people who want to help them.

The Outreach team:

  • Distributes food, harm reduction supplies, hygiene kits, and clothing
  • Connects youth to community partners and resources (like psychiatrists, medical professionals, and social workers)
  • builds relationships with young people by being a consistent, supportive presence in their lives.
  • invites youth to come to our Drop-In Centre for a hot meal, shower, or to help with anything they want to work on.
