Our youth learn how to make nutritious and affordable sushi

We had a wonderful lady come in from the South Vancouver Neighbourhood House to host a nutrition workshop followed by a hands-on demonstration of how to make affordable sushi.

The youth learned all about the importance of reading the nutrition label on the food, specifically watching the amount of sodium in food items. They then learned how to make sushi from scratch using ingredients you can find around almost any household. They made sticky rice from minute white rice and filled the sushi rolls with canned tuna and their choice of vegetables.

It was a very informative, delicious and fun workshop!
