A few months ago, a new youth came to our male Crisis Program after being referred to us by a community member. He arrived in the middle of the night and was exhausted and very hungry. We got him a meal right away.
Although he was hungry, he couldn’t eat all the food on his plate because he had not eaten much in the past few days and his body couldn’t handle too much. After being in our Crisis Program for a few days the young man told me that he was very glad he had found this place where he felt safe and he was grateful for regular meals.
The young man has been with us for a few months and has been participating in all the Crisis Program has to offer from life skills to activities. He is striving to get his work permit so he can start working and saving money for his own place.
