Our male Crisis Program’s stairwell that leads up into the space needed a serious makeover. The stairwell was plain concrete and not very welcoming and the Crisis Program team wanted to change that. Thanks to the help of The Home Depot Canada Foundation and artist John Gingrich we were able to transform the space.
John Gingrich MCP-AT is a Vancouver-based community counsellor and public artist. He completed his master’s degree in counselling for art therapy at Adler University in 2019. He has been hired to facilitate collaborative public art projects with various populations by the Cites of Richmond and Surrey. We were honoured to have John use his talents at Covenant House Vancouver and are so delighted with the mural he created for us.
The Home Depot Canada Foundation is a dedicated to helping youth experiencing homelessness and once again they stepped in to support our youth. We want to thank them for donating all the paint involved in this project.
Thank you John and Home Depot for making our Crisis Program a more colourful and welcoming space!
