Mario Kart tournament brings fun to our Crisis Program

One Saturday evening this winter, our team at the Crisis Program decided to host a Mario Kart tournament as a fun activity.

When the youth saw the title screen for Mario Kart light up the television screen, there were immediate joyous cries of “who wants to race me?”

One youth said they just wanted to watch the races, until finally deciding to join in after about an hour of watching. They even ended up coming in first place multiple times!

It was fulfilling to see youth who didn’t normally interact helping each other to figure out the controls, race each other, and generally participate in the merriment.
