We are thrilled to announce that RBC Foundation has confirmed another year of support for our Mental Health Program with a donation of $50,000!
This support means so much, especially with the ongoing impact of COVID-19 presenting youth with increased anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. The funding will allow our Registered Clinical Counsellors to provide personalized care including cognitive, dialectical behaviour and art therapies. When the pandemic began, our Mental Health Team was quick to adapt to remote work, counselling youth virtually in order to provide uninterrupted mental health services.
We are so proud of their quick thinking and flexibility, which includes a pilot launch of virtual art therapy sessions – youth can connect with our counsellors using art as the medium to self-reflect and improve wellness, especially with anxieties increasing due to the pandemic. Youth who come to Covenant House Vancouver have already been through a lot.
Thanks to the generosity and compassion of RBC, they can start to rebuild their emotional wellbeing which will provide a strong foundation for further growth as healthy, young adults. Thank you, RBC for investing in the futures of our young people!
