A lovingly shopped-for Greek Dinner from a familiar face

We have a lovely story to share today about one of our dedicated volunteers, Raj, and his gift of a beautiful Greek dinner:

In the pre-COVID days, Raj regularly volunteered his time in the kitchen at our Pender Street location. There, he would work with our Food Services team to prepare healthy and delicious meals for the youth in our Crisis Program and Rights of Passage Program.

When the pandemic hit, we had to limit volunteer shifts to minimize the risk of exposure for the young people. So, Raj and his wife reached out with a different way to keep showing their love and care for the youth. They offered to donate a supply of fresh groceries so that our kitchen staff could put together a wonderful Greek-inspired dinner for the entire Rights of Passage Program.

They even remembered that a few of the youth had dietary restrictions and coordinated their grocery shopping with us so that everyone could have a meal they could enjoy.

Thank you Raj!
