17-Year-old Teen Creates Donation Drive for Covenant House, Once Again!

If you ask Ahmad Devji if his drive to help others is about giving back, he sums it up in one word – duty. Duty to the community at large and those in need.

Ahmad’s latest initiative in support of Covenant House Vancouver called Project Purpose was set up as a donation drive-by held at his family’s home. Individuals were encouraged to drop by non-perishable food items, toiletries, and new clothing items which was done while maintaining covid-19 protocols.

Although it was a cold and rainy day it did not stop the community from coming out to support the donation drive. One special moment warmed everyone’s hearts when a little girl dropped by to donate her jar of coins totaling $23!

Ahmad also set up a fundraising page on Covenant House’s DIY fundraising site which has gone over his $3,000 goal!

Prior to this event, Ahmad held a fundraiser during the holiday season that resulted in a collection of approximately $500 worth of food, $600 worth of new clothing, and $2,300 in cash donations. His first drive in support of Covenant House was in May of 2020 where he collected approximately $1,400 worth of food for donation.

Ahmad’s focus on helping peers in need is a testament to his family’s strong philanthropic focus. No doubt this young man will always have the community at heart as he moves forward with his education and career.

A huge thank you to Ahmad, his wonderful family and all who donated!
