You’ve probably heard by now that we’ve been busy moving into our new building at 1280 Drake Street. We’ve been spending most of our time ensuring that the new space is as comfortable and welcoming as it can be as the youth prepare to move into their new home!
Moving into a new home can be a tough transition for anyone, which is why we ensured that youth were a part of the planning process for our new building from day one. Last month on the blog, we shared with you how we consulted with youth and incorporated their feedback into the building’s design in order to create a space that truly felt like it was for them.
The CHV donor community has also been instrumental in helping us make our new building feel like a home for the youth. We are so grateful for members of our community like Trans-Pacific Trading (TRAPA) who recently spearheaded getting donations of plush toys from The Granville Island Toy Company for the youth! Owner Joanna Mileos and Manager Tanyth Gadon recently supplied us with plush toys by Ty. Thanks to them, youth will have a special, cuddly, surprise waiting for them when they move in!
We truly could not have achieved this milestone without the relentless support and unconditional love of everyone involved — a big thank you once again!
