Giving Tuesday is a movement that is all about giving back and helping others. And that’s exactly what Bryan and Kim James are doing.
For the second year in a row, Bryan and Kim are the matching donors for our Triple Match Campaign. This means that for every dollar that is donated to CHV, they will match it to triple your impact!
Why are Bryan and Kim giving back? They said that they’ve always supported non-profits that helped people. They learned about CHV through a mailout they received. The fact that we support youth was of interest to them, so they decided to get involved.
Bryan and Kim also have a personal connection and understanding about homelessness. They have a relative who had addiction challenges and ended up homeless. Through organizations and support services, they received the help that they needed and are now clean, in a long-term relationship, and have a good job.
Everyone has their own idea of what home is. For Bryan and Kim, home is not only a roof over your head, but it includes safety, security, love, comfort, inclusion, support, family, and friendship. While at CHV, youth learn life skills, they make connections and build support systems — both at CHV and out in the community, they develop friendships, and they pursue education and/or work; everything that they need to work towards a future that includes their vision of what home means to them.
Bryan and Kim feel that giving Tuesday is a great opportunity for people in the community to give back and show their support. They believe that it’s important for people in the community to get involved because, “It’s important to realize that the government can’t do it all. It’s up to citizens to step up and help where they can. These young people deserve our support.”
Bryan and Kim understand that life can be difficult sometimes, but they encourage anyone who is struggling to, “Never give up. Tomorrow is a new day.”
When asked why they decided to be the Triple Match donors again this year, they said, “It just felt right to participate again. We are pleased with the progress being made at Covenant House, and we’re excited to see what the future brings!”
If you would like to get involved and support amazing and resilient youth, Bryan and Kim will triple match your donation so that it will have three times the impact!
If you are unable to make a gift, there are other ways that you can support vulnerable youth. You can:
• Leave a legacy gift
• Donate on behalf of your organization
• Donate items for our backpack campaign
• Donate food or clothing items
• Host your own fundraiser
• Create a school event
• Join Sleep Out: Champions Edition
No matter how you choose to get involved, you are helping vulnerable youth work towards the futures that they deserve.
Thank you.
