As we gear up for this year’s Sleep Out: Champions we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Their generosity and long-standing commitment to community impact makes a meaningful difference for young people experiencing homelessness.
A Powerful Matching Gift
YVR is stepping up once again in a major way with a $50,000 matching gift for Sleep Out. That means every dollar donated—up to $50,000—will be doubled, helping us provide more mental health supports for youth in need.
This marks YVR’s third year as our official Sleep Out matching partner. And their support goes even further back: before supporting Sleep Out, YVR was our 2023 Spring Double Match partner matching up to $100,00 and has been supporting our work since 2001.
A Community Champion
What makes YVR exceptional isn’t just their financial support. It’s the way they show up for the community in so many ways:
- They provide grants to dozens of non-profits every year through YVR Cares, supporting over 250 Canadian causes in 2025.
- Their employees can volunteer with charities of their choice, and YVR donates the value of those hours back to eligible causes.
- They offer on-site employment programs for people who face barriers when looking for work.
They’re always looking for new ways to uplift and empower the communities around them.
Leading by Example
This year, YVR is sending a team of 14 participants to Sleep Out: Champions. Not only are these individuals fundraising within their own networks, but YVR is also matching every eligible dollar their team raises—on top of the $50,000 match already in place.
They’ll also be lighting up YVR in support of Sleep Out again this year, helping raise awareness across the region.
