RBS: Nearly a Decade of Relentless Support

We would like to thank Richards Buell Sutton (RBS) for their generous donation of $20,000.

For nine years, RBS has been supporting vulnerable youth at Covenant House Vancouver (CHV) through generous donations, volunteering, and participating in our annual Sleep Out event! It is because of such dedicated support that we are able to provide programs and services for youth in the community.

That includes our one-size-fits-one approach that addresses the needs of young people whose overlapping mental health, substance use, trauma, medical health, and other challenges require specialized support.

Sharon White, K.C., a partner at RBS, shares her insights on youth homelessness and the reasons behind their support for CHV:

“As the holiday season approaches, it is a time when we may reflect on the year and appreciate how fortunate many of us are. It is also an opportunity to turn our minds to those in our community who are less fortunate, and to offer our support as best we are able.

As we have in recent years, we are very pleased to join with Covenant House Vancouver in their fight against youth homelessness. For 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they open their doors to youth, from 16 to 24, providing support and respect. Each day, approximately 160 youth are served at Covenant House Vancouver. The work the dedicated team at Covenant House Vancouver does is life changing for youth in need, and we are very proud to support their efforts.

This is a firm-wide initiative and members of our RBS team support Covenant House Vancouver in a number of ways. In addition to our financial contribution, we have a donation drive for personal items and winter clothing, leading up to the holidays, our team members volunteer on site regularly throughout the year, and this year, two of our partners, Trisha Doré and Ben Hagen, participated in Sleep Out.

We are so proud of the generosity and kindness of our RBS members in supporting youth at risk in our communities, through the incredible work of Covenant House Vancouver.”

As the oldest law firm in British Columbia, established in 1871, RBS has been a longstanding and active member of our community. CHV is truly honoured and grateful to be among the organizations that RBS has chosen to support.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the partners and staff at Richards Buell Sutton for your generous financial contributions and devoted volunteer support!
