Our Gifts-in-Kind Department is in transition and changes are taking place starting in 2019. Please learn more below.

Food and Clothing Donations for Homeless Youth

As always, but especially during our time of transition between our old building and our new ones, a simple way you can make a positive impact in the lives of homeless youth is to make a monetary donation. Your gift today provides for the immediate basic needs of young people experiencing homelessness.

If you would like to make a donation of food, it can be dropped off from 7:30am until 6:00pm at our 326 Pender Street location.

Our top needed food items are:

  • Meat Products
  • Dairy Products
  • Fresh Fruits & Vegetables
  • Frozen Foods
  • Canned goods

Gifts-in-Kind Under Transition

Our Gifts-in-Kind Department is in transition and changes are taking place starting in 2019. Covenant House Vancouver is growing to meet the needs of homeless youth in our community and we have transitioned to a new building this past spring.

During this time, we will have extremely limited space to store Gifts-in-Kind donations. We will temporarily be unable to accept donations of used clothing, household items and hygiene supplies at Covenant House Vancouver.

Here are the Top 5 Items we need for the Fall:

  • Notebooks (coiled & hole punched for youth in school)
  • Raincoats (male/female and all sizes)
  • Rainboots
  • Size 12-14 running/casual shoes
  • Non-slip work shoes
  • Headphones

We encourage our supporters to donate any items to the donation box at Wildlife Thrift Store at 1295 Granville Street on the corner of Granville and Drake Street. Covenant House Vancouver is partnering with them and they will be allowing our team to collect needed clothing items for our young people.

Covenant House Vancouver will still have a free clothing room for its young people and will be able to ensure all basic needs are being met. Thanks to Wildlife Thrift Store, we will be able to receive needed items free of charge as required without having to store them on site.

We truly appreciate all our donors’ and supporters’ patience during this time.
