Fun ways to get involved and help youth overcome homelessness

As we slide into summer time, we thought it might be fun to highlight some of the different ways that you, your family, and your friends could get together and get involved for a good cause. Below are different ideas for activities and events that you could take part in to help young people overcome homelessness.

Participate in a Sleep Out Vancouver event

Join the Sleep Out Movement with thousands of others from across the continent. We host Sleep Out events throughout the year (and you can even host your own!) where participants give up their bed for one night to sleep in an uncomfortable location in order to raise awareness and funds for vulnerable young people facing homelessness in our community. Join us in giving up your bed for one night so that youth can find one at Covenant House. Learn more about Sleep Out Vancouver.

Spring cleaning for a cause: donate to Covey’s Cupboard, and our most needed items

Keep our youth in mind when you’re out shopping or if you’re cleaning out your closet or pantry. We’re happy to receive new and gently-used items from our most recent Top Needed Items list. We would also love food donations to keep Covey’s Cupboard well stocked so that young people continue to have access to fresh and healthy groceries.

Host a Do-It-Yourself Fundraiser

Go casual for Covenant House

A great way to bring a little “summertime” into the work place is to host a Casual Day or Pajama Day in support of Covenant House. Get in touch with us to coordinate a day and we’ll make sure to send you stickers that you can hand out to participants in exchange for donations. Learn more about going casual for Covenant House.
