That’s you! You are a champion. If you made it through the pandemic lockdown, you are a champion. If you have lifted someone up, when they were struggling, you are a champion. And, if you are reading this, you are a champion, because we know that you care.
Here is another opportunity to be a champion!
On February 16th, Covenant House Vancouver is taking over the alley behind its newest building to Sleep Out in solidarity with homeless and at-risk youth.
Give up your bed for one night, to provide many nights of safety and support for youth at Covenant House.
This event will raise funds to support the mental health and addiction programs at CHV.
All Donations Will Be Matched!
The Nicola Family Foundation will match all Sleep Out: Champions Edition donations between February 3 and February 16 — up to $50,000! Jared Nicola was a Sleep Out participant in 2022. He knows what it’s like to be uncomfortable for one night, in order to raise critical funds to help save lives.
“Last November, I was given the opportunity to participate in Sleep Out: Executive Edition. Whatever assumptions I had about sleeping on the street for a night were permanently altered by the next morning. It’s a sliver of the challenges that so many youth face on a nightly basis, all of which are unacceptable in today’s society. The Nicola Family Foundation is happy to contribute to the Sleep Out: Champions Edition with this matching gift in the hopes that it spurs your fundraising campaign and brings awareness to the necessary services at Covenant House Vancouver.“
– Jared Nicola, Sleep Out participant
The event will take place in person at CHV’s 1280 Seymour St. location. As part of your Sleep Out experience, participants will receive a tour of our new facility, hear stories from youth and staff at CHV, and in the morning, participants have the opportunity to come together and share their experiences.
Gather your fellow champions and sign up today!
